TEN SELECTED JEWELS FROM PANCHATANTRA

AUTHOR:VISHNU SHARMA
PUBLISHER:H&C PUBLISHING HOME
PRICE:RS 10/-

The book "TEN SELECTED JEWELS FROM PANCHATANTRA" is a collection of ten stories originally wrote in sanskrit by Vishnu Sharma and retold in this book by 'SAVYA SACHI'  <K.N.C.MENON>.
The book has an eye catching front and as well as back cover because of which from the cover itself it can be told that it is a "childrens story book".
The stories are very good and interesting.
The first story"HARD WORK REAPS REWARDS" which has the moral "Without hard work,no one can achieve peace and prosperity in life." The second story pf a cunning barber.
Because of greed,he has been humilated in kings court.
The third story is the famous"MONKEY AND CROCODILE",which I could hear from my parents even before I went school.I like the story and its moral
"TIMELY ACTION SAVES LIFE".

Reader's Club Report

Today I was very glad to go for club period. I thought that we would have some extempore, the secondary section got to  do a wonderful activity. The name of the game was 'TRADE & SOLVE' . By hearing the name itself I thought of participate in it , but it was  for the secondary section .... all the time I have this problem of being a junior because I don't get the chance to play these games. Then after that It was our turn to do some activity. The name of the game was 'follow the directions'.By hearing it I was not that interested about the game. Then sir told us the rules to play the game.He gave us a paper on which  was drawn . There were four boxes on which something had been written.Sir told some questions. We gave back our papers and he discussed the answers. No one got full correct answers.By that time bell rang and we went back to class.... That was a nice day..! . hoping that you all will read it ....

THANK YOU ..

CLUB REPORT – 16.7.2016

EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Saturdays are always a new day to behold because of the club activities and today was one such day.
The day began with the announcement that all readers' club members from class 8th to 10th were to assemble in the LCD room, as mysterious and intriguing the announcement was, it was enough to stir up some excitement in us. "What could today's club activity be about?" was the main thing in every one's mind. One interesting thing that I saw was that Mujib sir was also very eager in today's session which got our hype up too.

The focus of the day was on the various online domains of the library and how the students could be a part of the ever-growing digital realm. Sir made us aware of how we could make use of the online services of the library to post our ideas and reviews and make them available to a wide variety of people. But mostly Sir also helped in bringing down the misconceptions that most new members had about the readers club and the Library rules too. Sir also pointed out the various new additions to the library and scholastic world websites. One very noteworthy quality of all of Mujib sir's classes are that all are infused with a little bit of humor and they never bore you (Hands up those who agree with me!). Along with this, the session also helped the students learn about how they could post a review on the school blog. The main significant message that we got was that if we are really passionate about something, then any obstacle that comes in our way can be overcome.

"Every day is a new day" was the main line that really inspired me today to write today's club report and I hope I have done justice to what all of you witnessed today. I end on a hopeful note that everyone would actively contribute to the library activities.

All the best for your upcoming exams guys!!!

To Kill a Mocking Bird

To Kill a Mockingbird

Author: Harper Lee
Publisher: Random House
ISBN: 978-0099549482

A rusting feel emulated from this book as I read it. It was almost lifelike seeing the world through the eyes of a 9 year old scout. Scout or Jean Louise is perhaps my favourite character and her observatios are delightful. The story mainly revolves around bigotry and racism i the South during the 1930s. The plot centers on Atticus Finch, a small time lawyer who defends a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. During the trial Scout slowly learns about the hypocrisy and prejudice of the adult world.
The story's appeal mainly lies in the vivid eccentric characters of the Maycomb county, the observations of Scout, who by far is a sensitive child and a plea for social justice.
The novel brought Lee the Pulitzer Prize in 1961. The motion picture adaptation of the book won three Academy Awards. Gregory Peck and Mary Badhan played the rold of Atticus and Scout.
Harper Lee's second book is the "Go Set a Watchman". Truly the novel is one fine piece of literature.

CONQUERING EVEREST : The Lives of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay

CONQUERING EVEREST  : The Lives of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay
AUTHOR                           : Lewis Helfand
ILLUSTRATOR                   : Amit Tayal
PUBLISHED BY                 : Kalyani Navyug Media Pvt Ltd

This is an inspirational story about the Legends-Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. This story begins with Tenzing Norgay telling his wish to climb Mt.Everest from his childhood to Edmund Hillary. Then Edmund Hillary tells his childhood story to Norgay.
This story may be little confusing but it is quite inspirational. It tells us about the great mission to get to top of the world's tallest peak-Mt.Everest. Lots of people lost their life during this mission. It also gives us more information about the Sherpas,Mt.Everest and other people who climbed the peak after them.

Through this story we could understand that if we work really hard anything can be possible. I recommend this book for all the ones who enjoys reading.
