Tintin and the Cigars of Pharaoh is the fourth volume of the fascinating 'Adventures of Tintin' written by the Belgian cartoonist Herge. This book is preceded by 'Tintin in America' and succeeded by 'The Blue Lotus'. The protagonists of this book are Tintin, Snowy,Thomson and Thompson.
Tintin and Snowy, are holidaying in a ship. They meet Rastapopulus, who is a film directer and Sophocles Sarcophagus who is an Egyptologist. Thomson and Thompson accust Tintin and Snowy in the name of heroin smuggling. The story, as usual develops into anathor plot and mysterious things happen after that. But in the end, Tintin wins over the mystery as usual. I liked about the way the author has depicted the culture and history of Egypt. So I urge all the students to grab this book as soon as possible.

The Adventures Of Feluda

The Emperor's Ring

Author- Satyajit Ray
Publishers- Puffin Books
Pages-105
Cost- Rs 150
ISBN- 978-0-143-33563-4

The Adventures Of Feluda The Emperor's Ring is the first book in the wonderful series The Adventures Of Feluda written by the Bengali director Satyajit Ray. This is a series of 12 books which all revolve around the Private Sleuth Feluda (Pradosh Chandra Mitter) and his friends. The protagonists of the book are Feluda, Topshe, Monobihari Babu, Dr Srivastava and Dhiru Kaka.

Being the first of the ever exciting series, one comes to know of the habits of Feuda and his likes and dislikes form this book. Also it also tells us of Tapesh's habits as well. The entire book is written in the first person, so it is easier to imagine the book. The book is narrated by Tapesh. The story starts when Topshe agrees to go to Lucknow with his father and Feluda. When they reach there they are greeted by Dhiru Kaka, a frend of their father. Then Dr Srivastava comes to tell of a burglary that happened in his house. All of them are worried that the attempt was to steal the precious ring of the doctor, which was a token of gratitude from Pyarelal Seth for saving his only son. And the great thing about that ring was that  it once belonged to the great Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. And of course, the ring gets stolen. And our sleuth, Felu starts investigating. The writing style of the author is one which grabs hold of the reader and does not let go until the entire book is finished. Some history of the place is also written in the book but not so much as to lose the effect of the book. Also the places of importance are also told in this book. Who stole the ring? How does Felu solve the mystery? Read this wonderful book to find out!

In Dhiru Kaka's house, a man named Srivastav comes to see him. He is worried that his precious ring which was gifted to him by Pyarelal Seth would be stolen. The ring was previously owned by Emperor Aurangazeb. He gives the ring to Dhiru and requests him to keep it safe in his house. But the ring is stolen soon. The story gets deeper with every page after it. We will be in a confusion that who would have stolen it, untill it is revealed. The plot gets thicker with the climax in Laxmanjhula. The climax of the book is very surprising. I liked the author's way of continuing the story in a very suspense way.

Ordeal by innocence

BOOK NAME-Ordeal by innocence
AUTHOR-Agatha Christy

This was the first time I read Agatha Christy’s book.Actually  I liked her way of writing but I did’nt find the story much attractive. It was an average book.It is about proving the innocence of a boy named Jacko who actually was not involved in any sort of crime but he was considered guilty for the murder. It is strongly focused on the psychology of innocence. Those who  are interested in reading defective fiction will have a great interest  towards reading this book.I insist all of those who are interested in reading crime books to try out this book.
