Legacy: Letters from Eminent Parents to their Daughters

The best book I ever read

There is a popular saying 'some books are to be tasted, some to be swallowed, yet there are some to be chewed and digested.' The book 'Legacy' belong to the third category. It is a kind of book which I was in search of, which is capable of transforming our 'self'.

Sudha Menon, the author accomplished a remarkable greatness by selecting personalities who are 'star wars' in their own realms and persuading them to open their heart and write their life's message to their daughters.

Though the title is meant for only daughters, I feel that this is a book which has to be read by everyone. Gender is nothing but the creation of man, and there is no difference ultimately when the question is about the purpose of life.

The letters are so deep woven with the hardships and sophistications, that made me to realize a fact. There is a story in every individual and we learn the greatest lessons of life when we commit humble mistakes. They also narrates vividly about the intricate tenderness in human relationships. They emphasis the power of love and necessity in being actively oriented in things which give us satisfaction. That may be ridiculed by public, but we will be recognized only when we are different and we can visualize what others cannot. More over, the book strongly recommends an unconditional passion for life. Each day is remarkable in its own way, its only up to us to make it worthy.

I cannot thank the author, but I am grateful to her book, which gave me better insights about life. I learned to become more observing, patient and passive to the lessons of life beyond our daily conditioning.

The book 'Legacy' is worth to read since it motivates us to leave a legacy with our life to our survivors.

The book Hip Hop Nature Boy And Other Poems is a bunch of poems by Ruskin Bond- an Indian who had made many thrilling and nature influencing works not only through poems but also by stories, essays etc. This book is one among them and the way he had presented the book is just like the reader will fall in the world of nature. One of the poem is Hip hop Nature boy which is about his experiences with animals and insects and every poem has   Ruskin Bond as a character. I liked reading it because his verses were so presented in a rhythmic way that is rhymes with each and every last word and these verses made me read forward.
And the poems are very funny also.

So, I recommend this book to everyone who reads novels because I think these will give you a break. So I hope this 128 pages nature influencing book will give you a break and I hope this review will fulfill the information that will help in buying the book or issuing the book and I think you will also fall in the world of nature just like I fell!!!!!

The Witches

The Witches

Author: Roald dahl

Title: The Witches

Publisher:Pufin

Pages:224

Price: 350

The witches is an another book by the world's No 1 storyteller- Roald Dahl whose works make him respected and inspired among children and parents and these includes Charlie and the chocolate factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Matilda, James and the giant peach etc. The main characters of this book are the boy, His grandmama, The Grand high witch, Mr. Jenkins, Bruno Jenkins etc. Normally what we think about witches are those characters in J.K Rowling's books and stories but the author here gives a brief description on witches, how are they destructive and the identification among them. Then the story goes with the adventures of a boy and his grandmama to stop these witches from destroying children and these are indeed should be read by the reader because they create a main plot in this story and this adventure twists and turn to become a good end. I think the illustrations made by Quentin Blake made me read this book because they are just like awakening to life  and these accompany Roald Dahl's literature so to make it  readable by the children. So I think you are also in a hurry to know more about this book and the presentation . Roald dahl uses a very simple language in his books and I think his book can be read by anyone who is inspired by his works. So rush to the library or your nearby book centers to take this book and I hope the information provided will help you picking this book and of course reading this book!!!!!!

I.S.B.N: 978-0-141-322575-9

The twits is an another interesting book by Roald Dahl, world's no.1 storyteller and a Norwegian who had awoke the children into the world of English literature  with his works Charlie and chocolate factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, George's marvelous medicine,Matilida etc. The main characters of this book are Mr. And Mrs Twit, The Roly poly bird and the muggle wump monkeys. The story begins with an introduction of Mr and Mrs Twit ( who were the most worst, dirty, revenge minded people) and their habits in the first 30 pages. The another 20 pages revolves around the greediness of the Twits to trap the birds by their sticky glue for making bird pie and their cruelty shown to the monkeys. Then the revolving becomes funny as the other 30 pages goes around the revenge by the animals to them and this is the funniest part of this book. You will be still wondering about what revenge they are planning on them, which is indescribable ( as you should read it and find out)  and don't think about your age and class because Roald Dahl books are the steps of english literature and it has the most simplest language used ever by the author and interesting ( as higher standard students like reading interesting books). I hope you will also like this book and other books by Roald Dahl and I hope you will find it interesting just like I felt!!!!!.

This adventurous classic is written by Katherine Paterson, published by Puffin modern classics. The main character of the novel is Jesse Oliver Arons,jr and his best friend Leslie Burke.Jess Aaron's greatest ambition is to be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. He will be  practicing all summer and can't wait to see his classmates' faces when he beats them all. But on the first day of school, a new kid, a new girl comes over to the boy's side of the playground  and outruns everyone. Not only does Leslie not look or act like any girls Jess knows, but she also turns out to be the fastest runner in the fifth grade. I liked this book a lot and would defiantly see the movie and reread the book. I hope my review will make you anxious to read this very interesting book. Island of the blue dolphins

ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHINS
                                                           -Scott O’Dell

The book is written by Scott o’Dell, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcount publishing company. Island of the blue dolphins begins with a young girl named Karana who is living on the Island of the Blue Dolphins  with her younger brother, Ramo, and sister, Ulape. One day, a group of Russian hunters (Aleutians) land on the island to hunt for otter. This is when the trouble really begins. There is disagreement between the two, for the Aleuts had caused trouble on the island some years before. It is here where the author injects conflict; the hunters decide to leave without paying for their trade. The chief is killed and the islanders decide to look for a new home. Because of this decision Karana and her brother are separated; she ends upon on the island alone for eighteen years. I admired Karana's hard work, she never gives up. She did become lonely and through her loneliness I noticed that she overcame the fear of her enemies and actually changed. Her relationship with her pet, a dog (Rontu)was an important part of the book for me. Her attitude towards the animals around her changed too, she starts off seeing them as materials to be used to make clothes or tools and of course to eat. As she becomes older and lonelier she changes and they become her friends. She then has to adapt how she lives. This book was not an easy to read, it took some concentration to read but the story carried me along and the struggle for survival providing plenty of suspense and thrills to keep me turning the pages. So, friends please try to get this book you will really enjoy it.
